Colour is the primary focus in Esther Löffel’s artistic practice, which is expressed particularly through large-format acrylic paintings on canvas. Yet, the artist does not work with clearly defined planes of colour, she creates compositions by layering countless lines in various and sometimes contrasting shades. As a result, colours appear dynamic and multidimensional, similar to a woven fabric made from hundreds of threads that flow into one another. Five large-format works by Esther Löffel are on display on the concrete ceiling at the Musikschule Baar, and the artist presents her work in solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland as well as abroad. Since 1985, her art studio is located in Zug.
