Silvio Blatter has been working as a freelance writer in Zurich since 1976 and ocasionally devotes himself to the visual arts. From the 1990s through to the 2010s in particular, Blatter focuses on painting. He creates a variety of multicoloured and abstract works. In literature, he is best known for the 'Freiamt' Trilogy, comprising the novels 'Zunehmendes Heimweh' (1978), 'Kein schöner Land' (1983) and 'Das sanfte Gesetz' (1988).
