Cécile Yerro-Straumann is born in 1971 in Seoul, South Korea. Her multidisciplinary artistic work focuses in particular on painting, installation and mixed media. She explores themes that are personally relevant to the artist French-Korean roots: cultural hybridity, memory and the self. Her work invites viewers to explore the connections between cultural heritage and personal identity. In doing so, Yerro-Straumann also raises questions about the role of the viewer and contributes to the central dialogues of contemporary art.
