Livia Salome Gnos grows up in Zug and studies art in Geneva, Hamburg, Reykjavik, Lucerne, and Sierre. Her artistic practice encompasses drawings, paintings, collages, and photography. In her work, Gnos focuses particularly on perception and experience, translating these into minimalist to abstract works on paper. The interplay of contrasts, textures, light, shadow, movement, rigidity, sharpness, and blurriness plays a significant role in her photographic works as well as her paintings and drawings. Many of Gnos’ works demonstrate a high degree of precision and a speak of a meditative engagement with the respective medium, while others convey a sense of urgency and great expressiveness. Livia Salome Gnos lives and works in Montreux; her works are exhibited nationally and internationally.
