Carmen Keiser, born in Zug, first studies textile design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Lucerne. Now, her artistic practice primarily takes the form of drawings, paintings and object art. Many of her works feature variations of stripes, lines and shapes, characterised by repetition, densification and transformation. From a clear and rational visual language emerge works with a vibrant presence that explore the potential and qualities of forms and colours. For example, Keiser creates blurred representations of seemingly real yet indefinable objects through an arrangement of colourful squares. In other works, she creates complex shapes and objects through carefully considered incisions in paper.
