In a noisy world fixated on scandal and drama, Verena Voser turns her gaze towards the quiet, the delicate and the unassuming. In her serial, multi-layered works, she draws attention to what lies between opposites. Dimensions of ‘back and front’, of ‘here and there’ are simultaneously present. Materials such as unfired porcelain and fine Japanese paper play a central role in this. They symbolise the interplay of elements that appear to be irreconcilable. In this way, the artist creates spaces and places that invite us to pause, linger and reflect. In addition to completing her teaching qualifications, Verena Voser attends the F + F School of Experimental Design in Zurich and continues her training in ceramics in Italian- and Romansh-speaking Switzerland. Study trips take her to the USA and Paris. The artist lives in Zug and works in Lucerne/Horw.
