Barb Wagner, born in Baar, is best known as a musician and pianist, as well as a founding member of the “Werkstatt für improvisierte Musik” (WIM) in Zug. For a long time, her artistic work in the field of photography mainly takes place in private. Nevertheless, she continuously pursues and develops her skills. Equipped with her camera, she explores her immediate surroundings and the natural world without seeking to reproduce them directly. Instead, she creates a sense of disorientation and alienation by subtly shifting perception. To achieve this, she uses elements such as light, reflections, geometry, different dimensions, or movements and distortions. Once the viewer questions what they see, Wagner’s artistic aim is fulfilled.
