Beat Iten Spuren 2008
Current location
Stadthaus, Gubelstrasse 22, 6301 Zug
As a gallery owner, actor, director and artist, Beat O. Iten shapes Zug’s cultural life for decades. In his career, he first attends the Kunstgewerbeschulen in Lucerne and Zurich, completes an apprenticeship in graphic design, and eventually turns to object- and wood art. Iten creates his abstract and often witty objects in his workshop in a garden shed. In the field of the performing arts, Iten enriches the cultural landscape as a sought-after character actor, as well as a stage technician and caretaker at the Theater im Burgbachkeller in Zug. With his expertise and knowledge, he also shapes the Kinder- und Jugendtheater Zug. He is furthermore significant to the city in his role as an art patron: the ‘Kunststube A4’, which he runs until shortly before his death in 2024, provides a platform for many artists from the region.
