Having studied graphic design at the Lucerne School of Design and under the tutelage of Walter F. Haettenschwiler, Tom Künzler is now a graphic designer, children’s book author and visual artist. His work in the visual arts is shaped by his personal interests, including rock and pop music, vinyl records and big cities. Künzler describes his own works as ‘2½-dimensional collages’, because they play with perceptions of perspective and seem to float in a multidimensional liminal space. His works speak as much of memories and lived moments as they do of social criticism. Künzler lives and works in Zurich.
