Ramon Hungerbühler is born in Tablas Romblon in the Philippines in 1989 and grows up in Zug. He studies Fine Arts at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and travelles to Genoa and Paris on studio grants. His artistic practice often takes painting itself as its subject. He explores, for example, the themes of imitation and superimposition by imitating a wooden board on his canvas. At the same time he does so in the style of comic art. His works play with ambiguities, reveal anecdotes from art history and engage playfully with contemporary phenomena, symbols and motifs. The artist lives and works in Zurich, and his works are exhibited both nationally and internationally.
