Patricia Jacomella Bonola is a Swiss painter, fashion designer and installation artist. In her artistic practice she explores the complexity of human existence and contemporary society. She examines how the effects of globalisation, overconsumption and digitalisation interact with changes in the natural world and in human behaviour. Her oeuvre encompasses video works, photographs and space-consuming, partly participatory installations, moving between narrative and conceptual art. Bonola often uses discarded and recycled materials that speak of contradictory realities and reveal complex socio-political themes. She lives and works in Zug since 1996. Prior to this, she studies fashion design at the Istituto Marangoni in Milan and fine art at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. She also attends the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica di Venezia.
