Johanna Näf is born in Stans, her artistic practice is diverse and interdisciplinary. She creates sculptures as well as installations, paintings, drawings and prints. Although her individual works are very different from each other, they are united by a focus on the essentials. Her visual language is characterised by simplicity and clarity, be it in figurative representations, abstract sculptures or site-specific large-scale installations. Näf lives in Baar and Lucerne. In the 1980s she attends the Schule für experimentelle Gestaltung in Zurich and later travels to England and India. She realises numerous projects in public spaces across Central Switzerland.
