Anna Margrit Annen is born in Baar in 1951 and studies Fine Art at the Lucerne University of Art and Design, as well as undertaking further training in audiovisual arts in Basel. Anna Margrit Annen's work covers a wide range of themes and media, including painting, drawing, writing, as well as objects, installations, and video. Across all media, her work is characterized by an exploration of scale and of systems of order and relation. Her works are based on precise observations and an appreciation of the inconspicuous. She explores her surroundings attentively and openly, translating her impressions into expansive compositions.
Anna Margrit Annen has presented her work in numerous exhibitions. She has received various awards and grants and has held several teaching positions and guest lectureships.
