Quido Sen Treppenauge 2019
Current location
Stadthaus, Gubelstrasse 22, 6301 Zug, 3. OG, Treppenhaus
As an artist and electrical engineer, Quido Sen has been creating an oeuvre since the 1980s. It encompasses drawings and sketches as well as sound objects, installations and performances. In the tradition of ‘Arte Povera’, he frequently uses everyday materials such as metal pipes, driftwood, wicker bottles or machine parts, and engages intensively with political and social themes. Many of Quido Sen’s works incorporate complex technologies that seem to breathe life into the objects. Some of them inhale and exhale, whilst others chirp or purr as one passes by. The artist’s work thus transcends boundaries and addresses current societal issues and the world’s advancing technologisation. Quido Sen is born in 1948 in Ostrava (Czech Republic). He has lived in Switzerland since 1969 and currently resides in Baar. He completes his education in electrical engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) and at ETH Zurich. In addition, he is a visiting student at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, where he also attends Prof. Bertoni’s sculpture class.
